Trekking in Nepal can be done throughout the year depending on the time of year. In Nepal, the year is divided into four seasons, each season has a different attraction for trekking. Due to differences in altitude levels and climate, different trekking and tourism areas of Nepal have different seasons. Even the same place appears in multiple eastern views according to different seasons. For example, at one time there are abundant flowers in the same place and at another time it is dry. The seasons are as follows:-
- Autumn (September – November) Autumn in Nepal, is the time when you can expect good visibility, fresh air, and the weather is not hot but cool but not too cold. As an acknowledgment of the festival, Dashain and Tihar festivals are specially celebrated by Hindus living in Nepal during this time. This time is considered to be very suitable for vacations and sightseeing of the mountains.
- Winter (December – February) In the Himalayan region of Nepal, there is sometimes snow and cold in these months, so many tourists from around the world come to see the snow-white mountains without any flow of cold and visit that area. Usually it is cool at night but during sunny days it can be warm as usual. Summer (June-August) is the ideal season for trekking in the rain shadow area behind the Upper Mustang, Dolpo and Kailash mountains as it is rainy season in the south of the Himalayan range. Still regular city, cultural and heritage tours offer you warm and wet scenery to admire. Forest researchers and botanists are also recommended to study various plants during this season. It is also a good time to learn about the different types of herbs and mushrooms found in Nepal.
